Over 100 Marchers Join PFLAG NYC in the Pride March

PFLAG NYC in the NYC Pride March

More than 100 people marched with PFLAG NYC in the 40th NYC LGBT Pride March on Sunday, June 27, 2010. We had mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, cousins, aunts and uncle, and all variety of friends. Gay, straight, trans. It was a fantastic, moving party down Fifth Avenue.

PFLAG NYC is Group #1

A last minute change in marching order meant that PFLAG NYC was the first group in the Pride March. We were right behind Grand Marshals Judy Shepard, Constance McMillen, and Lt. Dan Choi.

Carrying a sign that said, "Gay by birth, Soldier by choice," Dan Choi showed himself to be a big fan of PFLAG. He walked with us and made friends with many PFLAGers. We hope to see more of Dan!

PFLAG NYC sends a big thank you to all who marched with us, including a large contingent from Alcoa. Alcoa's EAGLE group (Employees at Alcoa for Gay and Lesbian Equality) has welcomed us to speak over the past year and we were glad to have them join a PFLAG NYC event. Thank you for supporting PFLAG NYC in Pride!
