PFLAG New York City works everyday to increase understanding and acceptance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. Through diverse programs and services, PFLAG New York City:
- Fights homophobia through the Safe Schools Program and works with thousands of students, teachers, and parents to create learning environments in which all students can thrive.
- Changes hearts and minds through public awareness campaigns like “Stay Close,” in which straight celebrities share the stories of their LGBT loved ones.
- Supports families and preserves relationships when someone comes out through support services and educational programs and helps family bonds stay as strong as they should be.
- Advocates for full equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people as the uniquely powerful “straight voice” for the LGBT community.
