A Free Discussion Group for 11 to 14 year-olds

PFLAG NYC has joined with the Jewish Community Center in Manhattan (JCC Manhattan) and the LGBT Community Center to sponsor a discussion group for middle-school-age kids who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or simply questioning issues of sexual orientation and/or gender identity (LGBTQ).
Cometfire grew out of a need that many parents felt for an after-school gathering place for their children who are LGBTQ. This safe and private space will allow middle school and junior high students the opportunity to discuss sexuality, youth empowerment, confusion, and self-esteem with facilitator, Dr. Scott Quasha. Scott is a school psychologist and professor at Brooklyn College.

The group is non-sectarian and open to all. Snacks will be served.
