Neurodiversity & Gender Diversity
Neurodiversity & Gender Diversity
Neurodiversity & Gender Diversity is a group for parents of kids, teens, and adults who live at the intersection of transness and neurodivergence (ASD, ADHD, PDA, ODD/DMDD, bipolar, anxiety/depressive disorders, etc). Find community and a safe place to share among other families whose transgender and nonbinary loved ones require additional support that may feel overlooked in other supportive spaces.
This group meets online on the second Monday of each month from 7:00–8:30 p.m. ET.
Have you attended a Neurodiversity & Gender Diversity meeting? We'd love to hear from you! You can leave anonymous feedback through our support group attendee feedback form.
In order to keep a safe and confidential meeting space, you must register to attend PFLAG NYC meetings online. The link to join the meeting on Zoom will be provided to everyone who registers in advance.
Please click the button below to access the registration form, and contact [email protected] if you have any questions about the group.
This group is a peer-to-peer support space led by trained volunteer facilitators. While our facilitators address topics related to neurodiversity, they do not act as licensed mental health professionals during meetings, nor do they provide counseling or therapy. Facilitators are not equipped to advise on crisis-related issues, including, but not limited to: severe mental health concerns, rehabilitation or substance use related services, runaway youth or adults, violence or abuse, or instances that involve police or authorities. If you are seeking mental health resources, please contact us, and we can make referrals.
Also, keep in mind that there may be mandated reporters in the room who are required to notify authorities if instances of harm to self or others are brought up during group meetings.
