Creating Safe Spaces Workshop
May 13, 2025 from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm EDT
Parents hold the key to creating safe, affirming spaces for their transgender children, both at home and in the world around them. Join us on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 6:00–7:30 pm ET for Creating Safe Spaces, a workshop designed to give parents the tools and confidence to advocate for their children in schools, camps, community activities, and beyond.
In this session, we’ll dive into:
- Creating trans-competent classrooms: learn how to make your child’s educational environment inclusive and supportive.
- Navigating gender-specific activities: gain strategies for handling situations like camp or swim classes with ease and confidence.
- Handling misgendering in public spaces: get practical tips for standing up for your child when someone misgenders them in places like the grocery store.
- Supporting your child in everyday moments: from shopping to haircuts, discover how to empower your child during routine experiences.
- Finding resources in your community: learn about valuable resources and support networks to help you on this journey.
This workshop is an opportunity to connect with other parents, share experiences, and walk away with actionable steps. Together, we can make the world a more inclusive and compassionate place for our transgender children.
The workshop will take place through Zoom and is free to attend.
